All goats, adults and kids, will come with ADGA and/or AGS & MDGA Registrations unless discussed prior to purchasing. All goats will come with a bill of sale, any disclosures if there are any, record of vet checks, supplements, vaccines, herd bloodwork test results and hoof maintenance.
If you are out of state and are looking to purchase a Dark Moon goat, please look into your state laws about transporting livestock/ruminants across state lines. Every state has their own criteria and tests that need to be performed before a transporter will pick up the animal. Most will require a CVI, some will require TB & Brucellosis. The costs of the CVI and health tests will be the responsibility of the buyer. The tests will be scheduled with my local vet and payment will be collected before the scheduled appointment.
Goats are very fickle and sensitive animals. They form bonds with their herd mates and can become stressed easily. I will never knowingly sell a sick or otherwise unhealthy animal. That is not fair to the animal or the buyer and does not do me any good.
Once, the animal has left the property I can no longer guarantee health or viability*. Unfortunately, tragic occurrences can happen with no fault of the breeder or buyer.
Even though I am a new breeder, I have spent hours and thousand of dollars on my animals and their health. When I post my animals for sale, I will ask questions to screen potential buyers. If you are looking for dairy production, show potential/quality, pets or meat goats "sold on the hoof" please be transparent with what you are specifically looking for. I am realistic and understanding of every situation, so please do not be afraid to be honest.
Goats are herd animals. They need buddies to hang out with and play with. A single goat could be obnoxiously loud, destructive and/or depressed, which may make you regret the purchase of your goat. If you are getting into goats and do not have a current herd, I would prefer to offer a paired couple.
If you have bought an animal from Dark Moon and any of the following situations occur, please contact me so we can find a resolution.
I can not promise every outcome will be perfect, but I would like the opportunity to try and help. If it's a situation where the animal is planning to be reintroduced to the herd I will require the animal to be up to date and recently tested against CL/CAE/Johne's Disease and have negative results.
Eggs are unwashed and have their natural bloom on them.
Unwashed eggs can be put on the counter or in the refrigerator. Once washed, they must be refrigerated.
I also suggest float testing the eggs as you use them. If they sink they are good, if they float throw them out.
** Wash all eggs thoroughly with warm water before consuming. **
